| Ingen writes : "Dear Friends, Here is an opportunity to sit four sesshins in four months, in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi (author of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind). You may sign up for as many or as few as your desire and time permit. Sesshins are subject to cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. Enrollment is limited to eight people. Prior experience is preferred, please indicate in your email if you have done a sesshin before, how many you have done and with whom. Accommodation and food are included, but please note accommodation will be very basic, you will most likely be sharing a room. For this reason, please say in your email whether or not you snore. If you have not done a sesshin before, please write a paragraph describing your zen meditation practice - if there are enough 'beginners' interested in a sesshin, I will make one of the sesshins 'for beginners'. You may sign up for part of a sesshin. This would mean that you leave a day or two early, not that you would arrive a day or two late. Please say in your email how many days you are planning to attend. The sesshins will take place in north Dublin suburbia. The fee for each sesshin is 40 euro per day. The dates for the sesshins are below, and you can contact me with any queries or to reserve a place. email ingen@stresspionage.com tele: 001510 681 9658 I look forward to seeing you all again and practicing together. Warmly, Ingen." |

Relics of the Buddha and many masters in Dublin!

Most of the relics — those found among the cremation ashes of Buddhist masters — resemble beautiful pearl-like crystals. Buddhists believe these relics are produced as a result of the master's spiritual qualities of compassion and wisdom. Since we can all develop these qualities, the relics are a reminder of our own essential nature of purity and our inner potential to manifest that.
The collection includes relics of the historical Buddha and the Buddha’s closest disciples as well as many other well-known Buddhist masters from different Buddhist traditions.
Visitors often report experiences of inspiration and healing when in the presence of the relics. While some are inspired to pray for world peace and to develop their inner wisdom, others are overcome by emotion as the powerful effects of the relics open their hearts to compassion and loving-kindness.

Mindfulness Walking Meditation in St Stephen's Green, Dublin!

TUESDAY OCTOBER 13TH at 1230 is the time set for an extraordinary moment in the spiritual life of Ireland.
Mindfulness Ireland invites everyone, Buddhist or not, to share the moment.
Sr Jina is the Abbess at Thich Nhat Hanh's Plum Village Buddhist Community in France and this is a precious opportunity to spend some time with her and with eachother, walking mindfully together.
The walking meditation will begin from the BAND STAND in the centre of St Stephen's Green at 1230 and ALL are welcome to join in, so please spread the word far and wide.
The Green itself is a beautiful, natural space in the heart of the busy city and [regardless of the weather] is an extremely peaceful and inspiring place to walk.
The Band Stand is easy to find. It is a covered, pagoda-like shelter made for brass bands to play on a sunny afternoon. You will find it near the large central fountain in the middle of the Green.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
PS Sr Jina will also lead an evening of mindfulness at OSCAILT [ www.oscailt.com ]8,Pembroke Road at 730pm [suggested donation is 10euro].
